Jessica Alba had the following to say about the sequel in a recent interview: “We start Fantastic Four 2 in August. The four of us learn that there are other people out there with superpowers, and the Silver Surfer appears as a villain/hero. And another villain comes in as well. My character, Susan Storm, has another love triangle and may use a power people haven't seen before. She's the most powerful of the four.”

We say

The first Fantastic Four movie may have been dull and talky, but kids liked the two or three special effects shots and amidst a huge marketing blitz the movie became a box office hit regardless. Thus, a sequel became inevitable but with the same crew aboard that made the first flick so unremarkable, so we said we can wait — that is until we heard that the movie will feature the Silver Surfer and thus Galactus as well! Now this we simply have to see! However, one bad sign is that Dr. Doom will return again: isn't Galactus big enough a baddie (heh-heh) for one movie? One can only hope that things don't get too crowded and that the whole Galactus storyline is given the treatment it deserves . . . (Read our review.)
