Of course the big news regarding the third Iron Man movie is
that Jon Favreau – who directed the previous two installments – has quit
the project. (He of course notified the world of this via Twitter.)
Depending on whom you believe this was either because of Favreau
complaining that Marvel wanted to throw too many superheroes and
characters into the third movie or that Favreau was getting too expensive
for Marvel.
Whatever the case might be fans shouldn’t be too disgusted by the news.
Favreau’s departure might be just what the franchise needed. After all,
Iron Man 2 came across as a
remake of the first movie as the character had to battle yet another
version of himself. Time to move the characters and story ahead we say.
And, yeah, too many characters will spoil the broth. Look what happened to
Spider-man 3 . . .
