WE SAY
2002's Men in Black II was a
lackluster, exhausted rehash and there is a
reason why a Men in Black 3 wasn’t rushed into production shortly
thereafter.
Sony is probably hoping that
(a) short-term nostalgia
will make audiences forget just how crap the sequel was (after all, the original Men in Black
was released in 1997 – more than a decade
ago now!)
(b) that the Will Smith brand will cast its usual box office magic
(c) people will go see it because it is going to be in 3-D
Point (a) is probably the same strategy the company has for
Ghostbusters
3 by the way . . .
